Most of us know what it’s like to have emotional eating issues. So many turn to food when we’re stressed out, having a bad day or are simply in a bad mood. And you know what, many people even reward themselves with unhealthy food on a good day.

These are all habits and conditioned responses we’ve taught ourselves. And Karen does an amazing job on explaining how to regulate yourself and understand the issues at hand. We went over 8 essential life skills that are listed in her book, Outsmart Overeating to address the issues we deal with concerning overeating.

8 Essential Life Skills

  • Wellness and Physical Self-care
  • Handling Emotions
  • Living Consciously
  • Building and Maintaining Relationships
  • Self Regulation
  • Problem Solving and Critical Thinking
  • Setting and Reaching Goals
  • Balancing Work and Play

I had such a great time with this interview, I want to thank Karen for coming on the show and being such a fantastic guest. It’s not always easy to interview different types of people but Karen is so down to earth and easy to talk to, I thoroughly enjoyed our time together. Karen actually sent me a private message thanking me for the interview which hasn’t happened before so that goes to show what type of person she is.

If you’d like to follow along with more of Karen’s work she blogs twice a week here.

Thanks again Karen! And all the best to you out there in Outsmarting Overeating!
