Stress relief for women is a subject that comes up often. Women usually have a lot on their plates weather they’re a full time parent, have a full time career or both. The clients that I deal with often don’t feel they have time to put themselves first, therefore they put themselves last which is a problem because if you don’t take care of yourself, how can you take care of others?
Understanding that stress plays a big role in many health issues, along with weight gain or storage of fat is difficult to get across. Simply informing and helping women understand that reducing stress will increase their quality of life in so many ways is something Lorna does a good job of in this interview.
Given that this is a health, fitness and lifestyle talk show, weight would be of interest to point out that Lorna explains that many times we’re stress out and can’t figure out why we can’t lose weight. Because cortisol levels increase, the body metabolizes fat different which in this case, the body is more prone to store fat when we’re stressed out which is why it’s difficult to lose weight when we’re stressed out. Many times we’re emotional eaters so not only do we eat more sugary and fatty foods when stressed out but we also have a difficult time burning the body fat gained when over indulging.
In this interview we talk about all the topics listed above which are all important subjects and points if we want to address stress relief for women. I hope you get a chance to listen, it was a pleasure having Lorna on the show and we’re grateful she gave us some time to offer us tips on stress and how to reduce in women.
