Eating healthy is stressful 1

With out a doubt, eating healthy is stressful. Now I know what you’re thinking, most people would tell you eating unhealthy is stressful on your mind and body. I wouldn’t disagree with that, but I also very well understand that eating healthy is stressful as well.

We have friends, family, co-workers and more that make it difficult for us to make healthy decisions. They give us a hard time, they feel left behind, possibly feel disrespected all by the choices we’re making for our own body. Doesn’t seem right does it?

Why should someone be offended by a choice we make for ourselves? Why should someone feel the need to make fun of us just because you want to eat healthy in the lunch room? All questions and many more a whole lot of people ask themselves (and me) as they feel more stress when trying to eat healthier.

So now that we have addressed and know that eating healthy causes stress, how can we reduce that stress of eating healthy? I’ve listed my top 3 suggestion below that are sure to help!

Eating Healthy is Stressful

So now that we have addressed and know that eating healthy causes stress, how can we reduce that stress of eating healthy?

#1. Let people know

The absolute best thing you can do for yourself when reducing stress is letting your friends, family, coworkers and more know about the healthy decisions you’re trying to make.

Ask the for help, ask them to keep you accountable. Whatever it is, invite them in on this healthy journey of yours so they don’t feel left out, so they don’t feel left behind and so they’re not insulted when you don’t eat their food or no longer want to come over for dinner.

#2. Don’t let excuses get in your way

It’s easy to say, there’s too much information, I don’t know where to start, what should I eat, when, etc. The truth of the matter these are all excuses to not move forward in eating healthy. It’s easy to eat unhealthy, it’s easy not to prepare your food, to skip workouts, to avoid the whole situation by saying some of the things I just listed.

Reality is, all those are excuses. So find solutions instead, take one small step and put one foot in front of the other as you work towards living a healthy lifestyle.

#3. Make a conscious decision

Do this for yourself, do this for your family, set a good example for your children, wake up energized and ready to take on the day instead of dreading another day. Choose, choose yourself, make a decision that today and every day after you’re going to live a healthy lifestyle, that you’re going to work toward changes to improve your health and make every decision afterwards to back up this decision.
